Jogja International Heritage Walk (JIHW) is an international walking event held by Jogja Walking Association. This event embraces the concept of health, as well as green environment, education, communication, tourism, and economy. All of these concepts are implemented to the society through planting 1000 trees in the slope of Karang Tengah, Bantul, increasing interest of students to join the walking event along with the foreign participants and the empowerment of local citizen, including the effort to develop the local entrepreneurs in Prambanan and Imogiri as the venue of this event.
JIHW is held for two days in November, taking the route in Prambanan temple area and Imogiri village. The walking distances offered are 5, 10, and 20 km.
JIHW was officially announced as the 27th member of International Marching League (IML) on May 7th, 2013 in Chantonnay, France. This makes Indonesia the only country in ASEAN to be the member of IML. JIHW was also legally accepted as the member of International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV) which would handle triathlon in November 2018.
